Acrostic wisdom
The Chessboard of Existence
Tangled in shadows, I move with care,
Heedless of pawns, who rise and despair.
Every square holds a story untold,
Chessmen of fate, both timid and bold.
Hearts are the pieces, in war’s cruel game,
Oft sacrificed for glory and fame.
Regret lingers long where rooks once stood,
Devastation thrives in the name of good.
Of all the battles, I stand alone,
Fleeting the moments that once were my own.
Existence a check, with no final call,
Resigned to the fate that befell us all.
Sorrow remains, as I ponder each move,
Time's relentless march is a truth to prove.
